Our Team is Growing!

We are so excited to announce our new Creative Director, Gabriella Dana, aka "Gabz!"

When Gabz spotted Feminal Music on Instagram, she got in touch to offer her support, only to find that she lives just two streets away from its founder, Shannon! It's made getting together for meetings a breeze!

Gabz has a rich and varied history in music. It's fair to say that it's always played a huge part in her life, but when it came to what she really wanted to do, which was to perform, crippling anxiety always got in the way.

So she watched her brothers’ bands play instead, tried to manage two bands when she was 16, (don't ask), volunteered for The Push in the 90s, helped put a music festival together, and tried out different band workshops that offered no post-workshop support.

Like most women, she's also faced many barriers throughout her life. She's taken on multiple carer roles for dementia and cancer-stricken family members, dealt with her own mental and physical health issues, and worked at multiple glass ceiling jobs. All of this left her feeling too tired, too busy and too fed up with the gargantuan task of trying to get into the scene publicly. It all seemed too hard.

She always thought she'd get into music when she had enough time and money, but that day never came.

And then she came across Feminal Music on Instagram.

When she saw that we were looking to start workshops for women and non-binary adults over 45, she introduced herself and jumped at the chance to help. We immediately adopted her into the team and are all excited for what’s to come!

Welcome to Feminal Music, Gabz!
